100 heavily rooted plants - The serrated leaves of this variegated cultivar of Pachysandra are pale green with cream colored edges or margins. It thrives in partly shaded or full shaded areas. This classy groundcover is slower to establish and spread. While 'Silver Edge' is slower to spread then other selections of Pachysandra, it will develop underground stems and fill in as a dense groundcover. 'Silver Edge' pachysandra is often planted throughout a landscape as an accent plant to add a splash of color with is beautifully bright variegated foliage. Common Name: 'Silver Edge' or Varigated Pachysandra Hardiness Zone: 5 to 9 Height: 6 to 12 inches Spread: 1 to 1.5 feet Bloom Time: April Bloom Color: White Sun: Part shade to full shade Maintenance: Low Flowers: Small, white flowers 1-2” long Leaves: Evergreen Uses: Groundcover, erosion control, border plant, accent plant. For most ground covers, we recommend you plant 6" to 9" spacing. This will allow the plants to grow together quickly, reducing the need for hand weeding. To determine how many plants you will need, using 6" spacing, multiply the number of square footage that you need to plant by 4.0. If you would like your plants to be spaced 9" apart, multiply the number of square footage by 1.8. Example: If you have a 100 square foot area to plant and you would like your plants to be planted 6" apart, you will need to calculate 100 x 4.0 = 400. 400 is the approximate number of plants needed.
